My journey into filmmaking is rooted in a lifelong passion for storytelling amplifying underrepresented voices and exploring the emotional truths that connect us all. From journalism to podcasting, every step has been about using narrative to spark thought, shift perspectives, and inspire change.
My debut film, a deeply personal and culturally rich story, has been recognised at multiple film festivals, earning accolades including at the recent International Black & Diversity Film Awards in Canada. It marks the beginning of a visual storytelling career committed to impact, truth, and representation.
I’m drawn to stories that explore identity, resilience, purpose, and belonging narratives that challenge norms, reflect lived realities, and give space to voices often left unheard. Whether behind the camera or on stage, I create to connect, to help people feel seen, empowered, and moved to action.
The Reel Happy Hour Podcast: A Story of Cinema, Community, and Conversation.
What began as a simple love for storytelling and film quickly grew into a movement. The Reel Happy Hour Podcast, created and hosted by Ola Adesanya, was born from a desire to dive deeper into the emotions, relationships, and realities portrayed on screen and how they reflect our own lives. Blending sharp film critique with heartfelt self-reflection, the podcast quickly found its voice and its audience. In each episode, Ola invites listeners to explore the human experience through movies, TV shows, and documentaries unpacking not just what we watch, but why it matters.
But the magic didn’t stop at the mic. The podcast evolved beyond audio, forging a vibrant community of film lovers, creatives, and changemakers. Monthly live panel events at London’s Genesis Cinema, screening films like American Fiction, The Book of Clarence, and Bad Boys 4, brought the podcast to life, sparking powerful conversations with actors, filmmakers, and mental health advocates.
